10 Simple Things To Do Before Summer Ends| Late Summer Bucket List
Summer is slowly coming to an end. Before moving on to the next season, there are still plenty of simple soft ways to enjoy the last weeks of summer.
These are 10 simple easy things to do before summer ends. Nothing complicated or time consuming. Just a few slow, gentle, intentional ways to soak up the last bits of summer.
You don’t have to do all of them. Pick something that sounds fun to you, fit them into your week, and enjoy the last few weeks of summer in your own way.
1. Watch a Summer Sunset on Purpose

Watch a summer sunset. Not just through your car window on your way home, but intentionally.
Stop for a while and actually watch the sunset. Take your favorite iced coffee or summer drink with you and try to be present in the moment.
It’s such a simple activity, and often one that gets skipped because there is always something else to do.
2. Make a Summer Dessert
Make your favorite summer dessert. It could be something as simple as a bowl of peaches and cream or something or lemon posset. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated or time-consuming. Unless you are actually in the mood to spend time making a fun summer dessert.
3. Make a Summer Drink
Make your favorite summer drink. Mine is a simple iced coffee, which I’ve had plenty of times this summer. You could make iced tea, lemonade, or whatever you’ve been enjoying this summer.
Have it while watching the sunset, with your breakfast on a slow summer morning, or simply when you are taking a break.
4. Spend an Evening Outside
Spend an evening outside without your screens.
Sit on the balcony, have dinner outdoors, take a slow walk, or simply sit somewhere comfortable and soak in the warm summer evenings.
You don’t have to do something particular. Sometimes by simply putting the screens away and living in the moment makes all the difference.
5. Write Down a Few Summer Memories

Before the summer ends, take a few minutes to remember your favorite memories this summer and write it down. It could be anything from the vacation you took or simple evening walks, your favorite meal you had this summer, a good day out.
6. Make an Ordinary Day Special
You can romanticize an ordinary day by doing a few simple things that make it feel a little more special.
Have your coffee or favorite drink in your favorite cup. Wear your favorite summer dress. Read a chapter of your favorite book. Buy yourself some flowers.
It can be anything that makes your day feel a little more special than usual. It doesn’t have to be something big. Sometimes it is the small moments that make an ordinary day feel special.
7. Take a Slow Walk
Take a slow walk outside, even it is for just 10 minutes.
The idea isn’t to get your steps in or turn it into another task on your to-do list. It’s simply about getting some fresh air and be present for a little while.
Enjoy the warmth, take a few deep breaths, look around, and let yourself relax. Just take a few minutes to enjoy being outside.
8. Visit a Local Spot You’ve Been Meaning to Visit
There might be a few places nearby that you’ve always wanted to visit but keep waiting for the right day or a completely free day. Sometimes the day never comes, and the place stays on the list.
So, go.
Visit that little café, garden, market or a local spot you’ve been wanting to see. It doesn’t have to become a whole day out. You don’t have to wait for the perfect day. Make the ordinary day the day you finally choose to go.
9. Read Outside Instead of Inside

Take your favorite book, or that new book you’ve been wanting to read, and spend an evening reading outdoors.
Read at the park, a café, your balcony, or wherever you feel like going to. Simple activities like this take almost no planning, but they can make an ordinary evening feel different. You get to enjoy something you already love while taking a break from being indoors.
10. Write a Letter to Your Future Self
Write a letter to your future self about this summer. Reflect on the little things you did, the places you visited, the moments you enjoyed and the ways you made the ordinary days feel a little more special.
And if you didn’t get to do much this summer, that’s okay too. You can write about what you’d like to next summer and how you’d like to make it feel more special and intentional.
It’s a simple way to hold on to the season while also give yourself something to look forward to next summer.
