Romanticizing Spring: Journal Prompts I’m Using This Spring

Spring feels like a fresh page, with new energy in the air. It feels like the perfect time for a reset. Not in a new me, new life kind of way. More like a soft shift, with small, gentle changes.

One small shift I have been leaning into this spring is journaling. Not perfectly, not every day, just when I want to slow down and give space for my thoughts. Some days I just write a sentence, other days it turns into paragraphs. It really depends on how I am feeling.

Sometimes it is hard to put thoughts into words, but prompts make it easier to get started. Here are some soft spring inspired journal prompts I am using slow down and be more present this season.

Spring Reset

  • How can I slow down enough to truly notice this season?
  • What would I like to experience this season?
  • What kind of energy do I want to carry into this season?

Everyday Beauty

  • What small moment today I want to remember?
  • Describe a moment from today that felt calm and meaningful
  • What small moments have I been noticing more lately?

Being Present (mindfulness)

  • What does being present feel like for me lately?
  • When do I feel grounded and in the moment?
  • What helps me to gently return to present when my mind feels busy?

Soft Rituals

  • What would an intentional day look like for me?
  • What simple routines feel calming and supportive now?
  • What slow rituals could I create to slow down my days?

Gentle Growth

  • What has been feeling easy or natural lately?
  • What do I want to nurture more in my life right now?
  • What does “gentle growth” look like for me this season?

Cozy, Comforting thoughts

  • What has been feeling comforting lately?
  • What kind of life feels peaceful to me right now?
  • If this season had a mood or aesthetic, how would I describe it?

You don’t have to use all of these prompts. Just choose the one that feels right in the moment. That’s the whole of purpose of this. To slow down, notice the little everyday things, and enjoy them.
